EVALI (e-cigarette and vaping-associated lung injury) and chronic bronchiolitis from vaping are now recognised pulmonology diagnostic categories.
Vaping-associated lung disease has matured from acute outbreak (the 2019 EVALI cluster) into a recognised chronic-bronchiolitis category in pulmonology. The diagnostic infrastructure is still being built; primary-care pulmonology underestimates prevalence in younger patients with unexplained respiratory symptoms. As vaping prevalence stabilises, so does the long-tail clinical picture.
